NICE

Well, it seems I was in the same hall as you are. Unfortunately I missed the forum discussion with the four authors, because NS (Dutch Railways) decided to fuck up yet again, which made for an 11.15 arrival, an hour and fifteen minutes later than planned. Any other company would have gone broke ages ago. Depressing. As was the Martin speech. As you note, Aan, he could do with some lessons. Jesus, I cannot believe how tedious and longwinded that speech was. Quite horrible. I thought he was just going to leave without asking questions but fortunately he didn't, because he couldn't just leave when there was no one to replace him. Anyway, he didn't giev much info, except for the fact that some early parts of AFFC will overlap with the end of the previous book, especially featuring in Dorne and the Iron Islands. Incredibly disappointing to learn that AFFC will be delayed with approximately 6 months. I think that ruined an otherwise nice day for me, at least a little bit. That's a huge delay, and not good news after just hearing that Tad Williams' War of the Flowers was also put off till next year. p.s I'm glad I asked Martin a question because no one seemed likely to do so when Martin asked. He might have left without answering anything.. Cheers p.p.s. The jousting was great fun
